The Industrial Training programme at CUC Culture Sdn. Bhd. provided a significant opportunity for me to bridge the gap between academic theories and the real-world working environment. Throughout the operations, I gained a deeper understanding of the creative agency's culture, business models, and long-term goals. This immersion into the "Foocuk" brand and the digital media landscape has encouraged me to consider a long-term career in this sector, as it aligns with my professional aspirations.

I am sincerely thankful for the opportunity to serve as a Creative Marketing Intern. This role exposed me to a dynamic environment where I had to adapt to personnel at all levels, from technical production crews to senior management. Being assigned to both the Creative Production and Talent Management departments, I learned how to deal with diverse stakeholders, multitask under tight deadlines, and work with high efficiency. After four months of training, I realized that professional life requires much more dedication than academic life in terms of time management, self-readiness, and the ability to apply marketing knowledge to real-time digital trends.

During my internship at CUC Culture, I gained a vast amount of work experience since this was my first time working in a boutique media agency. Early in my internship, I was assigned to the Talent Mediation department. In this role, I had to interact extensively with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and influencers. I learned how to communicate properly with talents to ensure they understood campaign requirements for brands like Bestari and Kow Kow. Facing various personalities and handling feedback regarding creative briefs was a new experience for me, and I am glad I was able to polish my social and professional communication skills in this area.

Additionally, I was assigned to the Content Operations department. I learned how to work quickly and efficiently to stay ahead of social media trends, particularly when assisting with TikTok Live sessions and the Foocuk Podcast. Beyond the creative work, I also had the chance to learn the administrative side of the business, such as preparing monthly campaign reports, performing stock takes for influencer product distributions, recording daily engagement metrics, and answering client inquiries. These tasks gave me a clear and comprehensive picture of how a modern media organization functions.

After completing my internship, I have a much better understanding and a clearer picture of how real-world creative jobs function. This programme helped me put my media and marketing education into direct practice. Through hands-on involvement in digital growth initiatives, I gained valuable work experience that has prepared me for the expectations of the industry. This has significantly increased my confidence in my ability to perform in a high-pressure, professional environment.

In addition, my soft skills such as professional communication, creative problem-solving, and cross-functional teamwork have increased tremendously. These are skills that I can utilize effectively in any future real-world job. The internship also allowed me to build a professional resume based on actual campaign results and content projects. Lastly, I was able to learn from senior creators and managers about the "ins and outs" of different positions, such as video editing, account management, and scriptwriting, which will benefit my career path in the future.

I faced several challenges during the internship that tested my resilience. The biggest challenge was adapting to the demanding production schedule, which often required working long hours to meet campaign deadlines. At first, I found it hard to adapt to the fast-paced "always-on" lifestyle of a social media agency, but I eventually managed to adjust my time management to thrive in this environment.

Other than that, I faced difficulties in managing various talents and stakeholders. Some individuals have different attitudes or conflicting creative visions, and handling them requires a high level of professional patience. When faced with difficult feedback or complex personalities, I learned to assist them and solve problems using "mild words of gentleness" and professional clarity to maintain a positive relationship. Lastly, I occasionally had to handle the logistics and research departments independently due to the small team size. While it was initially difficult to manage these responsibilities alone, the support and guidance from the core creative team helped me handle the workload efficiently, further preparing me for the realities of the professional world.
